The journey of Love Karamoja is deeply personal. Inspired by years of interaction with the Karamojong people and their rich cultural heritage, this initiative was born out of a desire to give back to a community often overlooked.

To see a thriving Karamoja, where every individual has access to the tools and opportunities they need to live with dignity, hope, and purpose.

To address immediate needs through practical support like food and education supplies.
To empower the Karamojong community by creating sustainable programs in education, skills training, and cultural preservation.
To celebrate and promote the unique heritage of the Karamojong people, ensuring their stories are shared with the world.
Why Karamoja?
The Karamojong people are a resilient and culturally rich community, yet they face significant challenges that affect their daily lives. From poverty and food insecurity to limited access toeducation, healthcare, and spiritual resources, the struggles in Karamoja are real—but so is the potential for hope and transformation.
At Love Karamoja, we believe that every person deserves dignity, opportunity, and support. By stepping into their world, we respond to God’s call to care for those in need (Matthew 25:40) and demonstrate love through action.
Challenges in Karamoja:
- Poverty: Over 66% of Karamoja’s 1.2 million people live below the poverty line (IPC Snapshot, 2022).
- Food Insecurity: Recurring droughts leave nearly 70% of households vulnerable tochronic hunger (UNDP, 2020).
- Limited Access to Education & Healthcare: Low literacy rates and inadequate medicalservices continue to impact the community (Tufts University, 2021).
- Spiritual Needs: While the Karamojong have a strong cultural identity, they have limited access to faith-based initiatives and community support.

Christmas Hampers: Sharing Love in Times of Need ( After the section of why Place this content under This flagship initiative provides essential supplies such as food, clothing, and hygiene items to families in need. During festive seasons or times of crisis, these hampers serve as a source of hope and a reminder that no one is forgotten. In 2024, thanks to your generous support and donations, we were able to support 144 individuals with essential food and supplies.
For 2025, we are expanding our impact through the Bottles for Love and Care campaign, in partnership with PG Recycling & Return-It and Nechako Bottle Depot. You can now contribute to the next Love Karamoja Christmas Hampers by donating the proceeds from your recycled bottles directly to our cause.
